New loyalty point cut-off bands drop straight to 2000 from 3500 - is this how it will be for all big games this season?

And voila .. in one fell swoop City reveal their masterstroke pay-for-loyalty scheme has paid off ... all those who were in the lower bands remain in the lower bands, only £50 lighter..

genius

... Or maybe, the club have cottoned on to slow tickets sales and 10 days before the game decide to open it up to as many Seasoncard holders as they can to shift the tickets?

Don't panic.

What I'm confused about is the Blue Membership vs Blue Membership with Match Priority. You have to pay £15 more for the latter but when you look at the selling criteria for Swansea it goes from Blue with Match Priority straight to General Sale. Does that mean the basic Blue membership is worthless (in terms of buying tickets)? If so, City have cleverly increased the cost of what was the old City Card from £10 to £25.

I think (may be wrong) but you still have to have at least the blue card(access card) to buy a ticket when its general sale, dont think you can but a ticket without this year? but again might be wrong!

You're probably right. They've still bumped it up though by £15 vs last year to get a ticket before "access" level! I know it's not a lot but a bit sneeky...

Yeah, it appears that "General Sale" means Blue Card Holders.

The weird thing about the Swansea tickets is that the Priority tickets can have one each but the Blue holders can have 6 each?

I don't get your maths, the £50 didn't give Platinum members an extra 1500 points.

CityCard was £30 last year

My point was really that if the lowest loyalty band for initial ticket sales has gone up to 3500, (although i take another poster's point that they're trying to rush out the unsold tickets for the Charity Shield as quick as possible), as opposed to it being 2800/3000 last season, it suggests that most people on over 2800 points have gone platinum, effectively keeping the numbers in each band the same while the club makes a decent profit for no actual benefit to supporters. As was predicted, basically!

As for the 'Blue' membership .. the £10 version effectively replaces the Accesscard and merely buys the right to buy general sale tickets'. What will be interesting to see is whether new or casual fans wanting a last minute ticket will have to pay this £10 on top of any match ticket price. If they don't, the non-priority Blue membership is a complete con. When they're trying to shift non-sellers like the Reading game for £10 or £15 a ticket, they're hardly going to ask newcomers to fork out an additional £10.

It's fair enough I suppose to adopt a compulsory membership scheme to cover costs - many other clubs have done it in the past - but at least be honest about it.
