Good for him.

It's a real sense of achievement that our two Italian academy products Scapuzzi and Balotelli are now making good careers for themselves.
Clarkie?

Well apparently Scapuzzi is a graduate and Balotelli made his debut younger than Scapuzzi did so Balotelli must be a graduate as well.

To be classed as an academy product, they have to have trained at least 3 years between 15-21. None have done this so are not academy products

I really like the look of Scapuzzi I think he has all the traits to make it in the Premier, bit raw and needs more upper body strength but i'm sure that will come as the technique looks to be there. As said elsewhere in the thread, a loan period at a good Championship side would give us a good idea of where he is in his development. I have high hopes for the young man......

Manchester City forward Luca Scapuzzi will remain at the club next season despite being linked with a return to Italy, according to his agent.

Reports claim new Roma coach Zdenek Zeman has been monitoring the 21-year-old, who made a pair of appearances for Roberto Mancini's side in the League Cup before loan spells at League One side Oldham and Championship strugglers Portsmouth.

"Luca will remain at Manchester City," Scapuzzi's agent Giuseppe Riso said to <a class="postlink" href="http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.tuttomercatoweb.com</a>.

"He will join City in pre-season training.

"Zeman's interest? He likes the player but we have never spoken.

"Luca's aim is to confirm himself at City."

Scapuzzi began his youth career at AC Milan and joined City from Portogruaro last summer

Seriously,why??

I don't understand why this guy is actually at the club, other than to fill the bench for Carling Cup games.

If I was him I'd just leave and get regular first team football in Serie B or something.

I mean, him and Balotelli are the same age and look at the difference between them.

Can't blame the lad this is where the money is, get a championship team to buy him or take him on he'll get a good contract compared to Italy

Shocking player

He's not good enough and never will be for City, hopefully the club can get some money for him before his contract runs out next summer as I have a feeling he might be released then. His tap-in against Wolves in the CC seems to have some City fans believing he's a talent, he couldn't even sustain a good performance level at Oldham in League One and when he couldn't get off the bench at Portsmouth in the Championship left the club in a huff and came back to City. And he's 21, not some teenage prospect. Needs to go the same way as the even worse Mancini brothers.

I do think he has the potential to make a name for himself in the Championship and at a push a lower club in Serie A. I would be stunned if he made it in the Premier League but to be honest he has done alright when he played for us so he obviously isn't a bad player, just needs to be in a team where he is the main striker. Probably best going to a league one team for now.
