Ive seen a few people say about the fact he puts a shift in yet everytime ive seen him play ive said to myself 'he'll need to track back better or work harder if he wants to play in a Pep team'. If anyone has any stats / clips then happy to be proven wrong. i think he is an excellent player with the ball and going forward.

And Pep will keep forcing Alvarez into the team because otherwise he would only play 10 games a season when Haaland is injured or rested, and then Alvarez would either demand to leave or lose all confidence like Jesus and everyone we ever kept as Sergio’s #2.

That may be a part of it, but Pep wouldn't put Alvarez in the team if he thought for a moment it was going to cost us points. He will always have a eye on squad management but never at the expense of losing games. or dropping points.

It’s going to be a weird window. Lots of teams will be looking to sell before 30th June and not sign anyone until 1st July.

As long as we don’t have another window like last summer, £100 mill wasted on Nunes and Doku, feels like we’re time travelling back to summer 2012
 
You can bet nothing will happen from the fa or premier league regarding his charges till late late summer! They'll probably even wait till the summer transfer window shuts before giving him the all clear regarding the betting!

The 40-50 million range might currently be the fee for the unproven but prospective player. Pay substantially more and you have a greater likelihood that the player will improve our first team. The problem however is finding those players who both want to come to Manchester and who are not intimidated by the prospect of competing for a position.

Our midfield certainly needs revitalising, with power, pace, and physicality, and while Paqueta can bring some of that, we’ll need more.

Why Doku when we had Palmer who would have got more minutes knew our system and would have certainly given us some of the goals Mahrez gave us and certainly more than Doku. Also while this is the paqueta thread I’ll call it like I did with Phillips, I don’t see this guy being anywhere near good enough. The love in is cringe worthy at best. We are the best team on the planet and this and sick note netto are the best we can come up with. Pretty grim when you look at the players we’ve had over the years and we’re after these guys

Do you know why we went for Doku? Well palmer went to pep before we even were looking at Doku to tell him he wanted out we told him get us the offer we want you can leave! That's how we work I don't agree with it but as fans we have to respect it! If it was me would told no chance you go in anywhere you have 3 years left on your contract and you that good you will get your opportunity!

Lots of the players we’ve bought over the years were not necessarily the finished article and improved once they got here. We clearly wanted Paqueta last summer (after Bellingham and Rice) but circumstances prevented it. He was highly impressive against us in the game at the Etihad in 22-23. As I’ve said, we’ll know more about what we need once the silverware has been distributed.

Thats not true. Palmer never said he wanted out.

Palmer asked for more game time and if he couldn't get it with us, could he go on loan for the season.
He was told he could not go on loan and that he could not be guaranteed any extra game time with us
A good offer came in which we accepted

Him wanting more game time in effect meant he wanted to leave pep guarantees no player game time and palmer had to go to pep to say he wanted to leave! He is lucky we so understanding because with 3 years left on his contract we could told him you going nowhere! Once he knew the package Chelsea's was going to give him no wonder he went to pep told him he wanted to leave..
