All just paper talk, I doubt we will go anywhere near him.
Surely this ship has already well and truly sailed.
Didn't make sense 2 years ago either. But rhen again, o didn't think the Palace lineup made sense. And yet it was amazing. So i could be wrong again :)I’m afraid I have to agree with you on that one. Two years ago, it would’ve made sense—but now? Now I just want to see Reijnders in that box-to-box role. I liked Paquetá back then, but I’m over it. I want someone who can elevate us drastically, not just offer marginal gains. We shouldn't take our eyes off Reijnders—he’s a must-sign. We need to bring him in.
Two years ago, we were crying out for an aggressive presence in midfield—and a slot was opened with Gündoğan on his way out and Bernado's future was in the air, which later after the transfer window was resolved by giving him a better package. Out of all the players we were linked with at the time and the players we ended up signing(Nunes and Kovacic), Paquetá made the most sense.Didn't make sense 2 years ago either. To me, he is the Brazilian Jack. He Is great when he is the fulcrum of a team. But I don't think he'll rise to greater heights on a top team.
Paquetta was and is never a marquee signing. We need a bunch of new players so surely only the budget for one marquee signing this summer

He brought tenacity, grit, and determination—combined with dribbling and ball-playing ability. He's a fantastic crosser, specifically from the left side, with impressive accuracy. In tight spaces, he thrives. His link-up play is sharp, and he progresses the ball with intent.
On top of that, works tirelessly off the ball, tracks back well, and is more than competent defensively—not quite a defensive midfielder level, but certainly above average for a No. 8. Add to that his ability to protect the ball under pressure, hence Pep wanted him. Of course, he has his weaknesses—he’s not a particularly strong, out-and-out offensive No. 8, and there are certainly a few chinks in his armour, which I presume are the reasons putting you off. Still, the qualities I mentioned are exactly what made Pep interested in him in the first place.
No but I guess they mean the price. It was 85m before the betting charges.Paquetta was and is never a marquee signing.
We dodged a bullet for me, another MF player with no pace/athleticism, something we desperately need.No but I guess they mean the price. It was 85m before the betting charges.
Problem is for a proven prem player with a bit of something you are paying good money these days. Then you have the homegrown argument if that applies. Hence everyone losing their mind at MGW.
Thankfully for those that don’t like the apparent (it’s all reported at the moment) targets, City have always been very firm on their own valuations and aren’t afraid to walk away from a deal.

85?What was his price tag?
He is more capable of playing 10 which is a bonus.Fantastic player.
Can play as an eight or ten.
Get it done.
