Luton Town (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Dunno how it came over on tv but the singing was non stop last night, can barely speak today - no sign of any microphones at our end but there was a tv camera, but I don’t suppose they panned in on us when we scored like they do for every other club? I thought the Luton fans were pathetic - a couple of hundred on the side near us were singing but I didn’t hear their main end once
Came over loud all game. To be fair the cameras panned in on the City end after every goal.

Didn't hear much from them apart from the odd "Come on Loo-un", a tedious "you bought it all" and calling Taylor a cnut when he stopped the game for Doku to get treatment when Townsend (accidentally) tried to rearrange his achiles heel.

Great show from City on and off the pitch.

Was that Erling’s first away hat trick? Bloke next to me at the match said he’d got one before, but he was bladdered and I couldn’t think of one

We got it right big time last night a mixture of possession, control and direct football Ortega had a blinder and with KDB picking up the ball central and playing Haaland in quickly we looked the business, Nunes ,looks like he's settling, we played some brilliant football.

Feel for Jack but our medical team dropped the ball.

Best performance in a long while. I love it when we play forwards quickly. Still too generous at the back but it doesn’t matter as much when we move the ball in the way we did because when we do we’ll score bag fulls. I much prefer this style to the way we have been playing recently.

Gutted for Jack. He’s massively important to us for the run in.

You sounded fantastic on the TV loud and proud all game. The Luton fans were terrible, the word small time was invented for them. Moaning, appealing for every single thing no matter how ludicrous and shouting that "Wankers, wankers, wankers!" chant all shit fanbases shout a lot. The only good thing there is their manager and the poor lad who had a heart attack. The rest can get to fuck.

I must be getting old. I dont mind the wanker wanker chant but I thought chanting Taylor is a **** was a step to far.

I do what we think of taylor but I'm surprised itv di6turn the sound down when chanting ****. Perhaps it's just a word I dont like !

This was the most entertaining and enjoyable game I've seen for a long time. That could be because it was a cup match and there had to be a winner on the night. Luton's manager clearly decided that all eleven behind the ball was unlikely to give his side much chance of the win but being aggressive and attacking might just. In the event it produced a very open game - partly because of the absence of Rodri? - but City as a whole, and KdB and Haaland were simply too hot to handle. The "telepathic connection" between the two is actually no more or less than two absolute masters of their craft at work and it is no shame on Luton that they were unable to cope. I presume Liverpool and Arsenal will allow them less time and space but they will be a real danger if in this form. And it was great to see our "Barnsley Beckenbauer" looking even more like the great man than ever, and popping up wherever he could create or snuff out danger. So, sorry Luton and many thanks for a great game - and that's not a cheap shot - but we were just too good.

Yep - not a word used much in our day and one I really don't like - especially when my grand children (the little ones) are allowed to stay up to watch.
