Thought Doku was excellent today..never stopped moving, making himself available, taking people on and deserved his goal. His defensive side of his game is improving all the time as well which shows he is clearly open to learning and putting the work in. interesting to also see him in the frist half dropping deep and picking the ball up from the centre halves and Ederson at times.

Kovacic was also excellent and ran the midfield.

Gvardiol - I do think at some point next season we may see him doing the John Stones role and pushing into that midfield.....he is excellent on the ball and is a cleear danger from the edge of the area as the last two games have shown. ......he clearly has that in his locker as those two strikes arent by chance or luck

Nunes - was ok but he needs to be doing more in games like this to impress Pep and that mistake for their goal wont help his cause....

Rico - just so mature for such a young player.....always in control and when Bobb came on the link up play with him on a couple of occasion was amazing.

Akanji - solid as ever

Haaland - cant do much more as he aint really getting much service baring the very first few minutes but thats to do with how deep teams are playing, double marking him and not that much creativity in his direction except from KDB. Link up play was goo

You're seeing the expected improvement from Doku and Gvardiol in the back half of their first year. People want the process to be a microwave and not an oven.

Nunes is more of a crockpot that is going to take longer but you see the talent and why he was bought. But he just isn't able to get on the field as much as Doku and Gvardiol right now. Don't know that he is ever a regular starter but he certainly will better and contribute more in time.

Villa won't be a straightforward match. They are in a scrap for 4th.

In all seriousness, this group (no Rodri, handful of rotations) may have struggled against Luton earlier in the year, but they’ve all improved individually and as a group since then. Almost like most of thought they would…

Nice to have a relaxing one to watch. Heard you all loudly on TV.

This just confirms that Pep knows exactly what he is doing when he requests which players to buy.
He improves each player that we buy.
Again he obviously saw something with Gvardiol who now is getting better each week.
Same with previous buys such as Grealish. Both have been subject to the boo boys.
Once they understand what pep wants they become an integral part of the squad.
In fact the more I see Gvardiol the more I think maybe pep has him earmarked for the midfield in coming seasons.

why did half the crowd walk out after Doku scored? maybe they saw the forecast and didn’t want to get soaked like I idid, but ide rather get soaked and give the players a proper ovation than fuck off and leave the stadium virtually empty.

Thought we played really well today with the players who came in adding lots of energy. Just wish people would stick around to thank the players for their efforts.
