Not overly bothered Foden isn't starting, being young and from the academy doesn't make him any more deserving of a start, but I do think Foden is the better option in this case. it's looking like either a slight change in formation or mahrez/sterling in the midfield, neither of which are central midfielders. Also doesn't give us much from the bench should we need to use it to look for a goal later

Given who's on the field already I can't see the need for anyone else to get a goal.

It should tell Foden he is being looked after, introduced on a game by game basis, likely starting in domestic cups, learning his trade and being ready to become a main man in the next year or two when silva and Gundy leave.

I am 110% certain city are playing this the right way and see Foden as integral to City’s future.
