Walker on free kicks, Delph hitting multiple shots from 30yrds like hes fucking Gerrard. Those just about summed up tonight.

This isn’t the same city as last year. It may take us time to get going maybe when KDB comes back it might spark us back in to life but something is definitely missing. We’re playing very slow this year, maybe it’s other teams setting up differently I don’t know.

Unfortunately several key players, like Fernandinho, Gundogan, Walker, Delph and Jesus, had absolute stinkers all at the same time.

Wrong side picked from the start and at this level, you cant do that, start slowly and expect to recover from it.

Lyon on the counter were a handful and as seems regular, took their chances whilst we manage to find the keepers gloves nearly every time.

I seriously dislike this competition though and im sat here thinking i couldn't give a fuck and happy such a shit performance hasnt cost us league points.

Pep is a genius but most of you here just don't get it, the Cardiff , Oxford and Brighton are season defining games and would be tougher than the game we played against Lyon, Pep gave our best 11 the much needed rest they deserve.

Excellent run Leroy beating two players, pulling it back for Bernardo to finish very nicely. But tonight we weren't right, it was all too slow. Giving the ball away, not pressing enough, individual mistakes and little imagination in attack. Uncharacteristic, probably the worst game I've seen from us for a while, hopefully it's just an extremely off night.

Another perspective. I thought Lyon were just tactically better. Singled out Fernandinho with the pressing making harder to play it out and overall, they looked stronger than us. As much as Depay is an arsewipe, thought he looked superb upfront for them and caused Stones and Laporte all kinds of problems.
