Lyon (H) - Post Match Thread

Bad night all round. Piss poor effort from the coaching staff, from the players and from the fans. Fortunately we’ve got 5 more chances to put it right and I’m totally sure we will

I said to Mrs Hef during the anthem that our players looked bored - that seemed to carry on into the game. Not focused and didn’t do a great deal right. It all looked very Pellegrini

Lets give Lyon some credit they deserved it took the game to us and scored from our mistakes. Delph what the fuck he was up to I will never know. Fernandhino losing the ball while Laporte was beside him. Even the passing was poor David Silva looked so so poor at times. We should get out of the group but it is a wake up call of sorts. Which can be good. I think a few have come back and dont look up to it. Jesus , Gundogan tonight was poor as was Fernandhino and David Silva so wasteful on the ball. We need a reaction to this defeat.

Bad game.
Don’t feel the despair I would have in a previous life but we need to sort it out pretty sharpish.

Credit to OL. They had a go and created a lot of chances - and yet, they didn’t strike me as better than either Shakhtar or Napoli were last year...

Haven't seen any of the intensity we had last season, this season. Poor effort tonight.

Well for what it's worth, I think that other than the Arsenal game we look stale and tonight was no exception. At no point did we control any part of that game. I admit they were a lively outfit in parts but we were so slack. Two mistakes and two goals, that's no good. We're susceptible to the counter attack so bad and that is quite alarming for a team like ours. Last point- Gundogan really needs to start upping his game big time because that was borderline pathetic tonight.

I fucking doubt you’re a blue full stop!!

My name's not full stop and you assume to know a lot about me, sorry to disappoint you I've been a blue for life as it's carried on from generation to generation in our family and I'm proud of it thank you and good night.

Hahaha it’s Pep’s fault now

We've not had a good atmosphere for about 5 years(and thatst being hugely generous). Apart from the delusional scousers who does have a good atmosphere in England? About 250 Lyon fans tonight showed how bad even 3000 away fans in England tend to be for atmosphere. So no I wasn't blaming Pep for that but I was pointing out that ship sailed a long time ago so I'm more interested in the team being shithot and if we play brilliant like we csn a little bit of noise will follow.

Lyon played well. We started with the wrong team in hindsight. should have been Sane, Aguero, and Sterling with Bernado in place of Gundogan. we should not of put mahrez on for Sterling. As I said in hindsight.

Delph and Walker as were the official.

The triangles just weren't there. Instead of the player receiving the ball having two players ready to pass and move within 5 yards of each other, our players were 10 to 15 yards apart which resulted in the passes being picked off or the only option being back to Stones or Laporte. Not good.

We all love Pep to bits but he should never be beyond criticism. His team selection was baffling tonight, im sure im not the only one that was sceptical before kick off when the team was announced.

Spot on. Absolutely love the man bib as soon as I seen that team I was slightly worried. Didn't expect us to lose to be honest but knew it wasn't going to be us at our best.
