Blacksmiths Arms in Henbury has always been decent if you're happy with a chain pub. There are probably others closer to Jodrell Bank though depending on what route you are taking. Like the Egerton Arms in Chelford but I can't vouch for it

I got thrown out of the Egerton Arms when I was eighteen for snogging someone at the bar! I was putting the customers off their food apparently.

As others have posted the Swettenham Arms is a good food pub and you have to go over a ford when you're leaving it which the kids will love. As has been posted it's not the cheapest, but not extortionate either.

The crown in goostrey's better of the two, bulls head in mobberley has good reputation

Years since I was there, did nice lobster 20 odd years ago, who brought the gay dog up? Got engaged in there, I'm still having the nightmares. The smoker used to be good. Most in Mobberly are, the church is great if your after a late night shag in a graveyard:)
