Did I mention I'd been on Eggheads?
OK, it is 2016 and I haven't posted a Smiths / Morrissey related thread yet this year....

SO..... here it is.... my quiz to test the brains of all you Smiths / Morrissey fans out there (and I know there are one or two amongst the detractors / unbelievers....)

1. Name the three song titles that end in a question mark.
2. Name the two singles where the title of the single does not appear in the lyrics.
3. Which band member was credited with backing vocals on one song and which song was it? (This is a band member and not Annalisa Jablonska who sang a few words on ''Pretty Girls Make Graves'' and ''Suffer Little Children'' or Kirsty MacColl who sang on ''Ask'' and ''Golden Lights'')
4. Which single credited the name of ''Ann Coates'' as backing vocals, but was just Morrissey's voice speeded up?
5. Which two songs contained the title of another Smiths song in the lyrics?

Answers on a postcard.... first to get all 5 right will win a special signed Mad Eyed Screamer Smiths / Morrissey related prize ;)

"How Soon is Now?" is my fave Smiths song and one of the answers to both 1 and 2. "What Difference Does it Make?" is another answer to 1. Can't get any others without using Google. Typical me; I started something I couldn't finish. Wait a minute, I think that's the other answer to 2!

I think there's several songs that fit number two but I don't know which were singles. In addition to those mentioned before Barbarism Begins at Home and Shakespeare's Sister fit the bill. Asleep obviously includes 'sleep' but not 'asleep'. Does it count?

One answer to five is my favourite Smiths songs 'Paint a Vulgar Picture' which contains the lyric 'You just haven't earned it yet baby'. 'Ask', must be in the lyrics of another song somewhere but I can't think at this time of morning.

Ann Coates is definitely off TQID, think Bigmouth Strikes Again.

The other song with a question mark that hasn't been mentioned is probably my second favourite Smiths track "Is it really so Strange?".

Number three I don't know.

Great topic. Going to spend all day trying to think of a song containing 'Ask'.

1. What Difference Does It Make, How Soon Is Now, Is It Really So Strange
2. How Soon Is Now, Rusholme Ruffians
3. Mike Joyce - Work Is A Four Letter Word
4. Bigmouth Strikes Again
5. Paint A Vulgar Picture (has the lyric) You Just Havent Earned It Yet Baby

and the 2nd part to No. 5 is driving me mad

As the previous poster said it must be Ask ???????

The second part to Q.5 is Pretty Girls Make Graves which contains the lyric "hand in glove, the sun shines out of our behinds" at the end of the song.

Ask is another

Handsome Devil contains the lines "You ask me the time, but I sense something more"
Still Ill contains the line "But ask me why and I'll spit in your eye"

The Queen is dead also contains London. "Take me back to dear old blighty, put me on the train for London town"

5 is driving me mad

for no 2 If he is going off actual released singles it will be How Soon is Now and Shakespeare's Sister

Well done to all - a couple of stewards enquiries along the way....... yes Ask and London are words used in other songs, but the answers I was looking for are Paint a vulgar picture (You just havent earned it yet baby) and Pretty Girls Make Graves (Hand in glove)

Also a good shout on ''I started something I couldn't finish'' as a song that does not have the title in it.... it does say ''I started something...'' but doesn't use the whole title

Answers
1. What Difference Does It Make?, How Soon Is Now?, Is It Really So Strange?
2. How Soon Is Now, Shakespeares Sister
3. Mike Joyce - Work Is A Four Letter Word
4. Bigmouth Strikes Again
5. Paint A Vulgar Picture, Pretty Girls Make Graves

Nice to know there are some knowledgeable fans on here :)
Will knock up 5 more questions for you soon.
