Mad Mario watch

It's because he's on a yellow card and they're facing the worst team in the tournament. Why risk a second yellow and him missing a match that matters if you can avoid it?
Good management.
Yes, and hopefully Balo reacts correctly to this.

I hear some twat threw a banana on the pitch yesterday. UEFA are not getting old of this. Too busy meddling in every other buggers affairs, it seems.

Funny how they bring him off then they concede, that Di Natale was shit when he came on as well!

I thought Mario was doing well, god knows why they bought him off!

Italy scored in the first game after mario came off but they were no way as attacking as when he was on...same in the second game too, their attacks were not so intrusive.

It won't matter either way if Spain draw with Croatia, so you might as well play him in my book, and either get a win or risk a suspension, because getting through is surely the priority.

Last time I looked the lowest odds on the match score was 5/1 for 2-2, the score that would ensure Italy's elimination. I think the Italians are getting a bit twitchy about it.

If you can't beat Croatia with Di Natale and Cassano up front, you don't deserve to advance, especially with Balotelli in reserve to bring in when the defense is tired.

Edit: *sigh* I typed Croatia instead of Ireland. Apologies. Not feeling well today.

Would be interesting given his impact as a sub for us in some games how he would fare if bought on for Di Natale at 60 minutes instead of the other way around. He often comes on with that "I'm going to show why I should have started" attitude (rather than the sensible thing of showing why when he actually starts). But it could be a good shout for them.

It'd be nice to see him afforded the opportunity to play football without the constant back drop of monkey noises and having bananas thrown at him. Can't imagine it's good for the concentration.

It is 2012AD after all.
