Music has anger issues. The issue being that there isn't enough angry rock music around at the moment.
Rock music is supposed to be loud, grabbing everything by the balls and squeezing with unrelenting force. Not dressed up in a fucking waistcoat and tweed trousers holding a fucking banjo.
To bring up an example: Oasis aren't my favourite band in the world but at least they represented something. They stood for the working class having a fucking top time at festivals or in pubs or whatever by making loud stadium rock.
What do Arctic Monkeys represent now? Mumford & Sons? Anyone? Big corporate show offs who've mellowed to the point where they should be ashamed to call themselves rock bands.
All the classic bands which call themselves rock, hard rock or heavy metal all either had something to say, presented their message with massive guitars and even bigger drums or had innovative ideas. Can you name a massive rock band making music at the moment which you could put under any of those?
Because I can't. Rock in the mainstream is currently one homogeneous gloop of new Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian's new album, Mumford & Sons or Jake Bugg. Outside of that there's no massive rock band making some kind of statement.
There's NO genuine working class music in the charts at the moment. Absolutely none. And the ones who are making it are completely forcing it as part of their image rather than just being who they are on a big stage. Fucking distressing, so I made loud music in my bedroom and put it out for free.
Not gonna get massive with this stuff and I don't expect to, but it fills a space for some people I know. About it really.
