Madrid Away

The Madrid Police have always been intimidating around the stadium, but strangely (and in stark contrast to the other English clubs) my experience of the Parisian Police was surprisingly positive, both last season and also the Quarter Final in 2016.

I also recall speaking to some PSG fans after the QF and being told that we were the friendliest English supporters they'd ever encountered (I think this was just after the Chelsea-racism incident on the Paris metro)
I can't think of a single time where we've started trouble in Europe in recent times.

Ditto

I was at both those games

First one with the Missus, Lots of Police dressed in Riot Gear, but no issues.

Intimidating, but stood off and watched everyone calmly.

And last time, we were not held back for too long, by my recollection :0)

On all my recent travels overseas City Fans are conditioned to the fact that we are going to be held back for a minimum of 30 minutes!!!

And therefore, don’t bother to rush to get out??

Will be experiencing the City Away End at Madrid in a couple of weeks, hoping for a good night and no involvement with the Spanish Police??
I just remember being drenched after last season's game in Paris.

Our hotel was within walking distance of the Parc de Princes and we even had time for a few drinks with the celebrating home fans.
No mither
No dickheads
Just mutual respect

There was a feature in the MUEN after the game in Rome basically questioning why City fans had been treated with far greater respect than United

We.all know why, but we were sat with some Roma fans in our hotel after the game, and it's just a shame that the MUEN didn't ask for their opinion

They made it quite clear to us that City's reputation amongst the Roma Ultras was far healthier than the vast majority of English clubs, especially United, Liverpool and Chelsea, who as far as they were concerned, were just violent thugs and thieves

The only time when I can remember City being out of order was the Shalke game in 2018-19 but that was more drunken stupidity than organised disorder.

Remember myself and all my mates who went got really ill in the week after that game, after being stood in the freezing cold with damp clothes on for 3 hours

Hey fellas, if you're coming to Madrid and want to explore the city a bit then my business, Tío Tours, runs tours around the city. We chose blue and white as our colours as a sly nod to city.

Happy to meet up with some blues before the match for some pints too. WhatsApp number is on the website.

Have to concur where the Paris Police are concerned - behave yourself and have a laugh they're actually one of the best Police forces I've encountered abroad
Spanish Police on the other hand - you could give them 100euro and they'd still happily give you a beating. That and the fact they hide behind balaclavas and shit. Remember being bussed back after Santander (which was a brilliant day out and their supporters were excellent) to be confronted by Jack booted Police looking for an excuse to give it out

I think around 2,000. Certainly more than last season
Im guessing about 2k as 7 of the blocks from 13 went on sale and seems to have sold full allocation was 3900 so 7 out of 13 blocks is about 2k we shall see over there. How many went last season im going with my 9 year old this time should be fun

I guessed around 1,500 went last time.

Last season, the same blocks went on sale as this season, however we didn't come anywhere near to selling all the tickets. As you say, it appeared this time that of the blocks that went on sale, all the tickets were sold.

Agreed. I was at Schalke. Too much drinking involved.

I have been to Madrid to watch City probably 7-8 times, first was the worse when the police were just thugs, each time has got slightly better and the last time was actually pleasant! I found it odd how the the police at Athletico were really good with no bother at all from them in comparison.

Watching these at the moment. Doku is gonna be their worst fucking nightmare if they play this system they are using tonight. Vinicius and Mbappe are super dangerous but they can be got at down the flanks. TAA is a liability.

I wonder if any Madrid fans watched our performance last night and whether they think we've got any obvious weaknesses.
