Mahrez Sterling Jesus

Who has replaced Sterling or Jesus?

The incomers have been Haaland (a belated replacement for Aguro), Alvarez (a replacement for Torres), Philips (a replacement for Fernandinho), and Ortega (a free replacement for loanee Steffan). If Cuccarella comes, it will be to replace Mendy not Zinchenko.

OK you could argue that Grealish came in for no-one in particular. City have also transferred out: Porro (Sporting Club), Bazami (Southampton), Itakura (Borussia Monchengladbach), Gyabi (Leeds), and Lavia (Southampton) for a total sum of £43.5 million.

That adds up to £101 million in and £168 million out including Zinchenko (disregarding the circa £60 million for Torres which I will be surprised if City recoup!). Plenty of scope to buy a new left back!

Maybe Pep reckons that Palmer, McAtee, Delap, and others can step up to the first team squad? I really hope that is the case.
Torres wasn't here and didn't play enough to have a replacement. It's quite easy to forget he ever actually played for us tbh.

I'm glad mahrez is still here and I think him and grealish will do a very good job of feeding Haaland and Alvarez.

We were certainly overloaded in the wide attacking positions so as Sterling had 2 pretty bad seasons and Jesus never managed/was allowed to get a long run in the side I think things are about right.

Just need a left back and we are ready to go.

Mahrez has been easily the best of the three for the past two seasons and statistically our best goal threat overall.

He gets pelters for missing a penalty against Liverpool and not executing a difficult pass at 2-0 up against Real Madrid.

otherwise he’s been awesome.
