Maine Road in one sentence

smell of fags and beer
constant hand clapping & singing
first game - league cup 1978
beating rags 1 nil in first derby there
Everton fa cup quarter final win 3-1
First pitch invasion when we won promotion

Great memories but needed to leave, it was getting in an embarrassing state.

"Doubling up" through the Kippax turnstiles. Free pies as my mate knew a kid on the stall. Colin Hendry's airplane. Chelsea's "Blues Brothers" laying a reef at the Kippax just before it was demolished. The whole ground singing "You'll never walk alone" the week after Hillsborough. Standing in the queue all night to get playoff final tickets and the people in front of us buying us kebabs as we only had credit cards. Watching all the fag lighters around the ground sparking at a night match.

Embarassing and Maine Road do.not.go.together....in my book.
