Our sense of humour is personal, you may find that clip is outside the small percentage of his jokes you find funny but that sort of comment is inappropriate tbh in this context. Disappointing.

It’s just a silly joke that isn’t intended to be clever. If anything it’s almost just a story that could be true - people really do say stupid things - which is what makes it funny, rather than the joke itself. In a world of shite, a bit of silliness is what we all need I reckon.

And I’m certainly no big Tommy Cooper fan. He was harmless and fun to watch, but not a genius that some people have him down as. In my opinion. At least, AFAIK, he’s not been historically accused of anything untoward, which is quite rare now!
