Make Shay Stay I Say

I have come to the opinion, after today's game, that City now need to make a big effort to ensure Shay stays until the Summer; as Hart has wobbled a little of late and has not been at his very best of late.

The goal he gifted against Leicester was one thing, a one-off concentration loss, but his tendency to come for crosses and miss out is more worrying. I also feel he is showing worrying signs of losing some of his confidence, maybe through starting to feel the pressure of us being at the top.

Do not get me wrong I am certain we should stick with Hart for now and hope he will bounce back to supreme confidence with the resilience he has always shown.

It is just with us challenging for the title it is better to have a first class Premier League experienced back up, just in case Joe goes the other way and has a temporary loss of confidence. There is no better in the business than Shay.

Mmmm cant see how we can let him go at the moment. Would be a big fuck up. Will have to wait till summer now IMO.

IF...and its a big IF, Jo had a confidence drop, the last thing you do is fucking drop him. That kind of treatment to keepers at his age would destroy him, you back your players through bad times.

No offence, but I completely disagree.

I thought Joe came and dealt with (e.g. punched, caught or made his presence felt) several of the crosses today, he also made a great stop just before the first goal

Even after the blunder at Leicester, he held his hand up and got on with it. That bounce-back-ability is crucial for a young player.

His slight inability to catch is his only weakness, but this is also Shay's major flaw. I strongly suggest we stick with them!

My major question is....do you think Shay Given would have stopped that shot from RVP at Aresnal the other week?

Joe did, I don't think Shay would have.

I made it clear we should stick with Joe and I consider him a better first option than Shay. I do think we need Shay as an insurance policy, we only have to look back to the latter end of last year to know that. Joe can also get injured.

Name them, please.

Predictable reply to this(based on blue tints) but anyway here we go......

Reina,Gordon,Cech,Robinson.

You must be kidding, none of those are better than Shay good as they can be and btw they are not back up goalkeepers, are they.

Cech and Reina are better keepers, and Shay isnt a 'backup keeper by choice is he. Yes it would be nice to keep him, but its also not fair on a keeper of his ability.
