Straight shootout it seems.

Current betting

10/11 Burnham
10/11 Reform

It's either going to be a great decision or Reform take the seat and the Mayor Gig too.

All aboard.

Would you want your MP to become prime minister?
Surely he won't have time to do normal MP duties if he is in charge of running the country.

If accurate, this by election will be a huge litmus test. Surely there are a safer ones in Greater Manchester. But obviously weren’t on offer, like this one.

It might spectacularly fuck up.

Agreed and it might mate but if it doesn’t it proves Burnham can beat Farage and that is huge.

I'm really not sure what seat is safe in the current political climate, especially after those local elections. This seat has always been Labour.

It will be like a TV drama this By Election.

It’s why I previously posited about there being better seat in GM for him to fight, but none of those selfish cunts was prepared to fall on their sword.

Not sure there is anywhere safe to land a parachute these days but I doubt you could find a better seat to contest, given the all too obvious longer term goal, ultimately decided by mere thousands ... including me!

Home turf in a straight head to head with Reform is his only credible way back in.

Can see the Greens sitting this out and going for the mayoralty.

I think you get a better service from your MP's office if he/she is a cabinet minister as they'll have a larget budget for staff
My sister fell into the Tatton ward and her MP was Esther McVey
My sister contacted her twice and both times McVey's office sorted it within a week

You just get more staff to do the casework for which you sign the letters.

People in Clacton voted for Farage knowing he wouldn't be there much. (Oh please don't tell me they believed he'd live in the constituency.)
