Making a Murderer

Dassey's conviction always looked shaky. 'Dragged into it' by Avery and then manipulated by the system looking for a conviction and wanting to nail him, and thus bolster the case against Avery too.
I think Avery's got his work cut out though.
We aren't privy to ALL the info, but it's not a surprise that Dassey was looked at again. I don't think Avery will be so fortunate.

That's possibly what got Steven in this situation in the first place.[/QUOTE]

If there were not such a spotlight on this, it is sad to say you could not count it out happening.
I hope that copper with the glasses gets done because he is dodgy as they come, sinister fucker he is.

Avery was convicted using the strength of Dassey's testimony to bolster an extremely poor case.

That has gone now, but it still may take a year or two for Steven Avery to get the case heard.

Not ALL the evidence was detailed in the documentary.
They also found Avery's DNA under the hood of her car (non blood) - consistent with Dassey's claim that Avery disabled the battery - plus her camera and PDA in his burn barrel.

The most disturbing aspect of the series for me is that Avery and Dassey were convicted separately using two completely different timelines and narratives that could not both simultaneously be true.

It's shocking that is allowed to happen

I'm not a fan of trial by television but the more the system is exposed the better

Brendan's initial lawyer was a disgrace, a really slimy fucker and the police were bent from top to bottom. I don't know if they did it, but they certainly were not given a fair chance

Are you sure? My recollection of it is admittedly hazy 9 months on, but I thought they barely even mentioned Dassey's testimony in Avery's case (if at all) because they knew how flimsy it was and also because it detailed a completely different version of events to the one they levelled at Avery.

THE THING FOR ME IS THE POOR LADY AND HER FAMILY

the missing part of the story is that poor girl was killed for what or by who still is not been solved and i don't think it will ever be the police have made a right mess of the evidence DNA and blood that was used to frame steven avery was contaminated by the police and now cannot be used. i feel sorry for both but come on this lady been killed and her family have no answers or put her to rest

I think Avery had phoned Theresa Holbach's office the day before to specifically ask that she be the one sent to the car lot to take the pictures he wanted, hadn't he? And I seem to recall reading that he'd bought a set of manacles the day before as well. Neither of those bits of evidence was admissible for whatever reason. My own instinct is that he was guilty as charged, but the police almost certainly fitted him up into the bargain and it's that seemingly demonstrable corruption that is his best bet for release. Can't see it happening though
