Making your home difficult to break in to

Anti-bastard spikes on your fence but make sure to put signs up or you'll be the one in trouble.
Where would I have to put the sign? Because the fence is actually a shared fence (With the house that got broke into last night) so would the sign have to go on their side of the fence (so it is facing them as they theoretically climb over)? Or can I just have it on my gate?

Don't know ono, but I'd guess on all outside faces.

I live in an end house and my fence has been fucked by kids/adults climbing over to get round the council locked gates behind my house.

I've just built a new fence and put some spikes on with signage on the outside of the 2 sides the public can see on one side of the gate and 1 on the 1/5 of a side of the fence on the other side of the council gate.

Go to your local police station and ask about getting a security check done, next door to me got done over twice and the police sent someone round to mine to have a look around and tell me what was needed, not much as it happened as i am home all the time which is the best security measure of all

I used to work with a locksmith who could get into most houses in seconds, albeit causing damage to the door/window. It can be done with minimal damage, but it takes time There are various techniques such as snapping or bumping a lock, but these generally involve "going equipped". Most burglars don't like doing this if they can avoid it as if found loitering with a pocket full of tools in the wee small hours the police have due cause to arrest them.

All you can really do is either deter them or slow them down. Deterrent methods such as CCTV or security lights are usually enough to deter most; security lights work if you are seen to react to them. I know of a guy that had his inside porch light on a 30 second delay after the outside security light came on.

Slow them down using deadlocks, bolts (doors & windows), frame bolts, window blinds, shutters, high fences, locked gates etc. Also remember, if your house is done up like Fort Knox but your garden shed is stuffed with tools and only protected by a Cat 5 lock you are giving the burglar the means to break into your house without having to go equipped.
