We had this thread a few weeks ago and it was agreed that you 'mother' should be refered to in the following terms;
When talking to her directly it is 'Ay are Mam'
When talking to others it's 'Mi Mam'

I call my mum "mum".
My children call me "mummy" or "mum" or "she/her" depending on whether they want something, are being normal or are having a pop at me / engaged in all out warfare.
My father in law refers to me when talking about me to my children as "yer mam" which drives me insane.

Luckily for me my daughter is nearly 11 month old so i just get mama shouted xx
