Mam, by the way.
The working middle classes get more chattery by the minute :-)

Mother - upper class
Mum - middle class
Mam - Lower class
I say mum
What a load of bollocks. Working class and proud as was my mum and dad.

Working class? People work in the 3 classes I mentioned above. If you prefer i will put it this way then.
Mother - upper class
Mum - middle class
Mam - The class that don't work, never have worked and never intend to work. They live a life on benefits, usually have 6 children called names of sports cars, or up market housing areas, smoke drink and are yobs. Before anyone has a go, yes if course some people will call there mum by something else, but in general I would say that what I said above is pretty accurate.

But on a serious note this topic is always comedy gold as your are just waiting for someone to state the ignorant.... mam =working class.
I remember someone on the last thread saying mam sounded a little bit 'council estate-y'
