I actually have the match ball from this game. On holiday the week before in Spain i met the referee Mike Dean, spent a good few days in his company and each other's family. He was the ref for this game and i told him i had tickets for it and would be there with my son. He promptly invited us to be his guests and he was true to his word, we had a great day, going in the dressing rooms and onto the pitch before the match, even complimentary drinks in the Tudor Thomas private lounge. After the game he came up and gave my son the matchball. Always been meaning to get it signed by the goalscorers that day, Bradley Wright-Phillips got two and Darius Vassell the other for City and yes a young Yaya Toure for Olympiakos, a header if i remember correctly. Still keep in touch with Mike and he is a very decent fella. ..R.I.P Your Mum..!
