Yaya had that annoying habit of shooting from way too far out or when it was going to be blocked, sterling seemed to keep fading then coming back, great performance but no end result, navas had one of his better games and kept pegging away. Fernando solid but offers nothing going forward except someone to collect the ball from a pass on one wing and pass it to the other. I was looking for him to at least change the option and go forward with it. Because he didn't do this otamendi and demichelis were doing this whilst Fernandinho provided cover and frankly I'd rather have the defenders defending.

slightly leftfield choice of Sagna; expected to marshall Baines, Osman and a wandering Barkley and also repeatedly overlap Navas. worked like an absolute trooper and performed well.

Seriously I thought he had a stinker, got caught out of position many times, final delivery was poor and almost gave away a goal with horrific pass inside.
