Fascinating and quite glorious that Sterling and Stones, purchases for which we were lambasted, are turning out to be two of our lynchpins. Not holding my breath for the hallowed media pundits to admit they were completely full of malice and shit.
In a sense, we were buying potential. That’s why they looked expensive, although there was more to the criticism in Sterling’s case. Some of it was positively malevolent.
Now their potential is starting to be realised, and we have got them for their best years, it’s obvious to everyone that they were sound investments. To be fair, the two lads made good choices too. I’m sure they will flourish here more than anywhere else.
