Kolarov for me. Especially when you consider he was playing out of a position. He also seemed to adopt the role of senior player and leader. Very impressed.

Yep. As I've said on another thread, Aleks Beckenbauer........

I went with Sterling but, if I could, I would have given a "Men of the Match" award to the whole damn team yesterday for the adaptations they've all made and for their commitment and effort.

Strange how other see it ,thought stones was fine on the whole ,kolorov and sterling out standing and kdb and kun where absolutely garbage

Didn't they announce Mangala was on the bench at the game yesterday? Did I dream it?

Fernandinho was exceptional. Obviously a key player in the way we are going to play this season. It's what we've come to expect from him so possibly doesn't stand out as much as Sterling and Kolarov who both had very decent games as did Stones.

For most passion, best decision, most enthusiastic and best goal celebration to go 2-1 up has to be pep himself for man of match.

Him shouting orders to aguero before a corner was to be taking was priceless, good to see a manager with passion.

Steady debut for stones, Nolito ineffective and more than half a point worse than navas who replaced him.
Same as others have said about kolarov (though not up against a burly striker) clichy and sagna.

Fernandinho motm. As pep said 'he can play in all ten (outfield) positions.

Defence playing fat bloke football- make a few runs and when you get fagged out come back into defence and let one of the others go up for a bit.

Never thought I'd vote for Kolarov as man of the match but he was excellent. Time for me to wake up I can't believe I said that

Usually the guy's biggest critic, but, defineately Navas for me.

Changed the game when he came on. -Actually used his undoubted pace to take on (and beat) his fullback on the outside, rather than constantly turning back on himself & cutting inside three or four times, yesterday, which was great to see.

Fabulous assist to create that vital late winner, too
