Far too much fear among City fans in this thread, based on the last few "freak" derbies.

Last year our weaknesses played to United's strengths: we were subsceptible to quick breaks through channel balls after our attacks broke down. It was the only way United could play. Also, they rose their luck like mad for maybe the last 4 derbies.

This season we have mostly shored up that problem. Also, they cannot keep fluking results against us.

We will beat them and I predict quite confortably.
If we take our chances

true, but we KNOW sterling cant beat him and that was when Sterling was on form. He tries pace and that just plays right in to Wan Bissakas hands. He loves a foot race. So try something different, Foden and Torres have guile. Putting Sterling up against him and expecting a different outcome is daft.
not disagreeing but Id play sterling on the right side instead

I agree mate . Was reading a bit about Brian clough and he used to just pick his team a straight 442 and they would go out and just play to there strengths . Too many fancy formations about now and pep should be saying in the dressing room two words “Manchester United “ and that should be enough to put it n the performance. Whoever thinks this game is just another match should not be at our club it’s as simple as that .
100% correct mate...we use steam roller these t w a t s,the last time we played at the Old Toilet the goal McSauce scored was embarrassing, Pep needs to stop over thinking it and we need to start scoring...
West Ham should have been 4 nil up in the first half and a dodgy decision saw them back in the game...
I would rather lose to Fulham than this lot, shame Augero is not playing he always scores and is a big miss..

Don’t normally post this early for games on the pre match threads,I’m hoping we win but you can bet if we do the media will quote something like this regards to the rags still early in the season but the signs are looking good, where as if we lose it’ll be what’s gone wrong as city wilt under pressure and utd fire huge warning shot over premier league ..

I get a bad feeling about this game they seem ideally set up to counter us. That said I do reckon we could paste them if we turn up and put our chances away.

Anyone who thinks they are shit is either clueless or wearing heavy blue fingers.

They are NOT shit. They are very good and have a few (mostly attacking) unique talents that can bother anyone.

Fernades, Rashford, Cavani, and Greenwood are all supremely talented in one respect or the other. And that doesn't even include the flashy french duo of Pogba and Martial. They are all very talented and speedy. And are extremely dangerous on the counter.
Sorry Pogba is grade A shit and Martial looks a shadow of the player he was in his first season.

Who is the ref? It'll especially matter in this game.
It doesn't really matter anymore who the ref is pal. Matters most who is giving orders to the ref's earpiece from a secret bunker, somewhere deep within Stockley Park. The referee is just a puppet running round with a whistle. He blows it when he sees fit, and changes his mind on command.

Ahem, has his mind changed! Then computer wizardry kicks in and pitch lines are moved to deceive, all so a player is shown to be offside by a fingernail. Works best if a team is wearing red for some reason : /

Nope he is allowed to be racist. It’s a red thing.
Its disgraceful given the way Bernardo was treated for an almost identical,if not lesser,'offence'.Seemingly precedents can be ignored accordingly.

Getting away from that though,Cavani will hopefully be a good but, ultimately, blunt test for our defenders.
