The league is there for whoever wants to take it imo....Manure have been found out and the arse are hardly setting it alight...going all out might just see us in the drivers seat if Chelski slip up...thoughts?

We're not mathematically safe yet, in fact only united are, Arsenal need just 2 points, 1 really due to goal difference, we still need 5 (6 without gd) more points.

There's not a chance that we will get 8 more points than united and arsenal do from our remaining 9 games.

my point is no one is taking the race for the title by the scruff...btw...its also not mathematically impossible that we wont win the league

If we win the league this season I shall attempt to eat every fuckin' finger on me Balotelli hat when it comes, in full view of a full house at the first home match next season! We might get another three points nearer the eventual winners, hopefully The Arse if not us, but I cannot see MANUre nor The Arse mangling up the number of points we need. We would have to get three points from each of Dippers and CFC away and Spuds at home. Nine points? I'm not unduly pessimistic but . . . . . . . .

Can see Manure slipping up against Arsenal, Newcastle & Chelsea but I don't see us not slipping up in the meantime.

I feel that the title is beyond us this season , barring a totally unforseen chain of events ....... Arsenal should win their game in hand and that would put us seven points behind them and United with only nine games to go , and we could easily lose at Chelsea yet.

For my money either Arsenal or United will win it .....

no reason why we can't finish in the top four though , and that WOULD mean that we have progressed on last season!

A big assumption that we win all our remaining matches would leave us on 80 points.

United will have to win 6 and draw 2 to finish ahead of us. There are only 3 games I can see United dropping points on.

Realistically I know we will drop points via drawing, if not losing.

I cannot see it happening. But who knows.

I spent about an hour on it yesterday and actually we're only about a point from safety. Arsenal I think are already safe by a distance. The trick is that of the teams who would have to pass us for us to (theoretically) be relegated, many have to play each other. You can't have, say, Blackpool playing West Ham and both teams walking away with three points. Since teams will lose points in those games, every time it happens we are a step closer to safety. After the next round of matches we should be mathematically safe, roughly speaking.

Anyway, back on track.

I fear if we did that, we'd just wear the squad right out and consequently we'd start leaking goals like water through a sieve. We're right at the point in the season when, so long as we maintain our cup runs, the team now will only get about two weeks til the end of May when they get more than 4 days between games. If we go all out, it will surely backfire and we will slip down the table.

Ironically 'going all out' 2nd half against Chelsea and against Liverpool - I mean 2 up front with zero protection for an untried centerback pairing? - is the reason why taggarts mob stuffed it up.

There is no way on this earth that Mancini will go 'all out' against Chelsea. Unless he's turned into a f**king idiot and not told anyone.

As for the title unlikely but I do agree there will be a few more twists and turns and no one is showing great form at the moment.

we`ve tossed off too many golden opportunities now its about 4th.

our team has been shown to have a criminal lack of pace, and no width and a lack of belief.

please can we have gareth bale next year.
