Yep, Hodgson is a good shout. However I actually think that it's more difficult to take over mid-season and still get results, so on that front I think Roberto will be in with a shout...

But alot of the hard work had already been done by Hughes. If Mancini had took over and we were languishing in 13th/14th or something like that, (a position which would more justify Hughes' sacking), and got us to finish 4th, well then yes a nomination would be justified. Without turning into a pro Hughes thread though, Mancini, in the scheme of things, (if we finish 4th), will only have gained 2 places on Hughes' work, whilst getting us knocked out of both cups in the process. To gain 2 places in the league on your predocessor (sp) doesn't really warrent a nomiination for manager of the year.

True to a certain extent however he came in and took over a team that had won just 2 out of 11 leauge games which is pretty average form if we're being honest however Mcleish should win it, done an excellent job at Birmingham

Mcliesh at Birmingham may well get it. He's done a cracking job with a very average side.

Mcleish is a good shout too, along with Hodgson. We're all deluded though because we all know Taggart will get it, probably because something like, 'and he guided them to that trophy after losing the greatest player in the world, so we'll ignore the true acheivements of Mcleish and Hodgson and lick your arse some more, oh great one'.

You might be right mate but i reckon they won't win the leauge and if thats the case then surely theres no chance of him getting it, is there??

Don't think Europe comes into it, so Hodgson has been pretty average this season (bottom 10 at the moment).

Pulis has claims, McCarthy, McLeish.

Mancini has done a cracking job, but won't be considered because of the money we have.

No chance of Mancini winning it.

Far too defensive and negative. And the players don't like him.

If Wenger wins the Premier League (thats a pretty big if) then he should definitely be manager of the season.

So far though, I think it should be McLeish.

They'll say that whether he wins something or not. They'll find something for him to win!

what no love for 'super' davey moyes?

think of all the trauma that guy has been through... first the intolerable situation where someone actually had the nerve to try to buy one of his players, then the public breakdown resulting from the utter humiliation when that player handed in a transfer request. and just when he's got over that, some lunatic immigrant viciously attacks him during a match.

just think, he's gone through all of that, and yet according to an article I read a couple of weeks ago, everton are still on course for a top four finish....

Don't forget, though, that we may have been in 6th place but we were 6 points adrift from 4th and 4 points off 5th. Hughes' points trajectory was downwards too wasn't it? :) So Mancini has had to make up that difference and then get above the others - averaging 2 points per game as opposed to 1.71 for Hughes. Not an anti Hughes post but just pointing out that we were starting to fall off the pace slightly.

Mick McCarthy has done great with the Wolves side this year and to keep them up this season is some going with the money he has spent. Doyle has been a top signing for McCarthy and his workrate and goals has got Wolves to the point of safety. If Wolves stay up Mick should be in with a chance. None of the so called top 4 deserve it this year too many loses this year. I think McLeish will get it and next year it will be hard for him to better what he has done. Signings of Ferguson player has been good along with the 2 centre halfs and Hart has been top management. I will fear for them next year if City take back Hart they need to replace him with a good keeper.

After all super davie moyes has had to put upwith he must be one of the main contenders, but I would give it to Rafa, to be able to take a side that has been so good for the last 200 years or so and turned them into the force they are now is truly remarkable, especially as he has kept being allowed to carry on the good work.

If there is short list of four, I think Mancini should be in it.

But, assuming it's compiled by the FA, I think it will be:

Ferguson
Ancelotti
Wenger
Ferguson

Benitez for me, He has done a great job at making Liverpool a club fighting for top 4 place and and they almost defeated Benfica away.
