you should be the Times food critic, a very accurate description

Best food ive had in town was at The Northern Quarter Restaurant. Not the cheapest place but you will not regret it, the lamb i had there was unreal. Every meal i have had since has been shit in comparison

Hope you don't mind me borrowing your thread Mcfcstu, but I can't post.
I am also in Manchester City Centre for a conference next week, but staying over in between
Oldham and Ashton. Does anybody know if there is a park and ride near the Oldham end of the new Metro link I could leave the car at instead of driving into the City Centre and having to pay to park.
Never used the Metro before ----- roughly what time are the last Trams?

The trams aren't running up to Oldham yet mate. Lots of cheap parking near town, all day £2 at the bottom of Rochdale road facing the old Collyhurst Police station.

Loads of great places to eat in Manchester, try Australasia or <a class="postlink" href="http://www.relaisdevenise.com/manchester/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.relaisdevenise.com/manchester/</a> if you like steak and chips.

Ah. Right. Cheers. (Thought I had read somewhere that they had started running last week)

Sorry for giving you some wrong info mate, I meant they are not running to Ashton, they are running to Oldham.

The Market Restaurant is lovely, though a bit on the dear side.
Gaucho Grill is good.
Plenty of oriental type ones you can't go wong with too.

You cant go wrong with any of the above. You pay for what you get and never come away disapointed.

Trams started running from Oldham last Wednesday mate, and I believe there is a big park and ride at mumps, costs about £3.80 for a return off peak.
