Manchester City close on Pellegrini (merged)

With Chelsea and Man Utd changing managers, I would like us to be having some certainty. As I have said before, the fact that Pellegrini is not 100% certain an upgrade on Mancini, I would just like us to keep Mancini for at least 1 more season, get his targets in (working with Txiki) and another go next season.

Yeah, I'm not sold on Pellegrini. He was down to 10 at 20', but you'd hope never to be on the losing end of 6-2 regardless. His teams sometimes defend clumsily.

Then again, we got smoked 0-3 at home by Arse when Boyata got sent off and had to play with 10.

I trust Txiki.[/quote]

Why do you trust Txiki ?

Give me a list of his successful managerial appointments who have gone on to find success with a team not containing Messi ?

Forza Mancini

Down to nine men.

So he can't keep his team disciplined or defend well or win trophies - sign him up!

It's pretty easy this shit point scoring lark..

You really have got some chip on your shoulder: it's not about point scoring; it is about context.

Do you blame Mancini when Vinnie gets sent off?

Malaga played with 10 men for much of the game. They conceded their second goal because their keeper picked up a back pass, possibly because he was distracted by injury.

You don't judge a manager on one result.

And for what it is worth, I'm not in favour of changing Mancini for Pellegrini but I will try and be objective about his ability.

-- Wed May 08, 2013 9:46 pm --

You think Pep won't be a success at Bayern?

Why don't you just list every game that he has ever lost?

Frank Rijkaard?

Pep built a team around his best player too. Something Mancini is yet to do with ours.

Messi was a peripheral figure when Rijkaard's Barcelona won the Champions League. Txiki (and Soriano) were part of the team that brought in Rijkaard.
