It should be illegal to even advertise a job without stating a (reasonable) salary range. And while we're on it, you should have to pay people for their time if an application process goes over a certain amount of time. These companies who call people back three, four, five times, even more sometimes. It takes the piss.

I once had someone contact me on LinkedIn asking me to apply for his job listing. I took one look and literally all it had was what he wanted and nothing about what the company could offer. No salary, no benefits mentioned, not even the usual 'great company culture' bollocks, nothing. I asked him and he said "well we probably won't be able to match (current employer)." I thought why the fuck are you contacting me then?

Fair point that - circa 18 month ago I attended 4 (FOUR!) separate interviews/ meetings on in town, in Warrington and on Teams with 3 separate individuals to vet me.

After the fourth interview/ meeting I never heard from them again despite calling, texting and reaching out via LinkedIn (which is where we initially made the connection).

Fucking bizarre and extremely disappointing to say the least............

No sane person applies for a job without knowing what pay it is unless they are out of work or a youngster stepping up from an elementary job.

Remember the "Executive" who got sacked for fraud in a sales position a couple of years ago on "up to £30k"?

Executive may be a newspaper exaggeration, but if you can pay yourself £100k unquestioned you have a reasonable amount of autonomy which is not reflected by the pay.

Sadly not listing salaries on job ads is really common practice.
