This is what a lot of City fans seem to think, that we're jealous of your money. We're not in any way. Your stadium is still half empty every other week. There's still no atmosphere at the COMS. Your supporters even copy another clubs celebration when your team scores. Whenever I go on holiday, I still see Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal shirts in many bars and resorts. Not a City one in sight.
I'd never trade our history, reputation and honours for oil money. Never.
I'll answer in stages, so you can actually understand.
1. You are jealous. Why would you come on a City forum and refer to it as "oil money" in that bitter, hateful way?
2. We've sold out every home game this season, bar one, against you lot, when the club were asked to charge £40 a mid-week game in England's "third cup", so to speak.
3. Anfield is as quiet as a library until you have to win a Champions' League game against a poor eastern-European team to struggle through.
4. Yes, and we openly admit that we copied it when we sing "Let's all do the Poznan" whilst jumping up and down.
5. It doesn't matter if you see shirts anywhere. What matters is one sight and one sight only: us in 1st, and you in 7th.
You hold on to your history, because it'll be all you've got in a few years. Fuck off our forum - now.
You'd know all about being "bitter". Don't the red side of Manchester all call you "bitters"? Wonder why that is? I wouldn't change the history, tradition and honours of Liverpool Football Club for all the money in the world thank you very much. You're never going to see your team lift 18 titles and 5 European Cups. You might see City win a few trophies but you'll never be a name in Europe like ourselves, AC Milan, Real Madrid etc are. You'll always be Manchester City "That team with a lot of money" and a half empty stadium every time they play.
Thinking about it, you're like a baby blue version of Chelsea. Your supporters only have about 2 songs on the terraces and when you reach League Cup Semi Finals, you couldn't hear a pin drop at the COMS. You get embarassed in Europe after God knows how many years of not playing there and your fans think the likes of Gareth Barry would get into the Barcelona first 11.
You have money. That's it. Money. No status, no worldwide support, no atmosphere, no image. Just money.
You're still not getting it, so I'll do it in steps again.
1. I'd imagine they call us 'Bitters' in the same way that we call you 'Bin Dippers'. It's a tongue-in-cheek insult to get one over on a rival. Duh.
2.
You're never going to see your team lift 18 titles and 5 European Cups.
You said something similar to our neighbours not so long ago, so don't speak too soon.
3. Why do you keep making the same point that our stadium is always half empty, when you know it's completely incorrect?
4. I don't see why you can say we'll
never be mentioned in the same breath as those teams when you can't see the future.
5. I wouldn't say we were embarrassed. We were in the "group of death" in a competition you didn't do well enough to qualify for. And we're the only team in Champions' League history to finish in the group stages with 10 points and not go through.
6. Only two songs? "Oooh, Balotelli", "Blue Moon", "Hark Now Hear, the City Sing"... well there's three.
7. It's highly unlikely that any City fan has ever said Gareth Barry would get into Barcelona's team - I imagine players such as Silva, Kompany and Aguero would - but if that sentence has been uttered, don't let the opinion of one City fan represent what we all think.
8. If all we have is "money" then why have Nasri, Silva, Savic, Barry, Johnson, Aguero, Dzeko, Clichy, Lescott, Yaya Toure, Milner come here to (as they said) to "win things".
As Samir Nasri said in his first ever interview as a City player, "footballers think about the future, not the past", so get the fuck off of our forum, sit in a dark room and think long and hard about your views on football, because my friend, they are more backwards than your scrotey little number 7.
