Hi Guys

Were thinking of running a feature on Imagine FM's Blue Moon show in just under 3 weeks time (10/10/10) on City's best ever number 10s.

Any suggestions??

I had number 10 on the back of my first City shirt. Does that count? :)

Robinho was a number 10?

In all seriousness though, you can't really look past the Goat for this one.

Funny that, i thought Robinho would be the first reply.
Nah, he was shit. Bianchi and Sibierski were on a different level to anything i've ever seen at City.

There's only one contender - Asa Hartford

Can never remember him having a shite game. Obviously he did do but my memories of him are all good, i worshipped him and still have his autograph that i queued up at Kendalls for in 1976 to this day as he was doing an adidas promotion there and i bought my first pair of Beckenbaur boots whilst there as well.

Dammit, it should have been but I took too long to write my post.

Goater for me though. He embodied everything that is great about this club. He wasn't the most stylish player, he wasn't the best player in the world, he didn't have thousands of silky tricks but by hardwork, a bit of talent and plain fluke, he became a top goalscorer and a cult hero.

Failing that, Djamel Abdoun

The best player the club has seen was Peter Doherty. I don't know what number he played but he was an inside-left so I'm giving him the No 10 shirt.

Do you think that Peter was better than The King? I am too young to remember Doherty and never saw Nijinsky live, but I know they were both great players.

In the time I can remember, Nelly Young is probably the greatest No. 10.

Wasn't Nijinsky number 8?

I was questioning the Sheikh's bank manager's claim that Peter Doherty was City's greatest player, rather than King Colin.

And yes, Bell did wear No. 8; he was inside-right.
