Manchester City releases 2023-24 Annual Report | Record £715m revenue, profit of £73m

A line in the MEN article reads:

So MD revenue rose by 5% despite playing 5 FEWER games.

It's unsustainable to squeeze fans like that.

Seasoncard price freeze and remove the £150 flexigold tax please!
I certainly don't disagree with the sentiment but probably the main reason for the rise in match day revenue is that in the previous financial year we changed the way we did hospitality.

Instead of a third-party standing the costs and getting the revenue, with us getting a flat fee and possibly a commission as well, we took it on ourselves. That meant we claimed all the revenue but also stood all the costs.

That increased matchday income significantly but we did it part way through the year, so it wasn't fully reflected in last year's accounts. This year's accounts do reflect the full impact, which is actually a few million less than I thought it would be.

Please can you explain to somebody who’s not a legal expert, or a business auditor what this means.
In case he doesn't reply. Companies have to state any issues or problems that might impact on next year's profits/loss.
For the last 2 years the club have mentioned the 115 charges because there was a huge risk that everything could change, fines, relegation etc.
For them not to mention it this year has to be significant.
Why have they omitted it ? (Giggles to himself) I am not an auditor or accountant but it has to be a positive sign.
