Manchester City releases 2023-24 Annual Report | Record £715m revenue, profit of £73m

Totally agree but investment in the team has to be a priority as we have seen and a drop off and loss of CL could be a disaster for turnover/profit.

We have been happy to stockpile cash by selling players but what use is that if our status and success fades?
I’ve been thinking about this and I reckon we need to spend £400mil across the next two transfer windows to get back to having a very competitive squad.

What’s your point ? That we should be making a profit before player sales ? Why ? When others don’t ? Being long term is good but I don’t see why that means we should make a profit before player sales if anything it means the opposite ( capital growth and continued capital expenditure more important)
I was talking about the sale the football clubs. Virtually every other Prem club has been resold (in part or whole) since the Sheik arrived.

I think we need to invest heavily in the squad and move some players who are over the hill.

I think that's fairly conservative, we could be looking in bringing in upwards of 8 players for me and I would say 5 of those have to be top class players and the wages to match.

In saying that our wage bill will be considerably lighter with KDB, Bernardo, Walker, Gundo, Ederson moving on.

It's going to be a very interesting 12 months coming up and I would say this time next year our team will look very, very different.

Disagree on that. I just don't see 5 top class players out there that would warrant top fess and wages.

Quire a bit of money will be going on renewing player’s contracts that are already here…Rodri and Haaland won’t be cheap.

I am out disputing that fact but what’s your point ? What’s that got to do with the lack of profit before player sales ?
