Manchester City vs. LA Galaxy (9pm Sunday)

Just saw the highlights this morning - obviously they don't show everything, but it looked to me like we dominated. Their goal was a bit special! Think we looked fairly fluent on the ball, and it was nice to see some new faces. Think the whole Balotelli situation has been blown out of proportion, as its all over the radio this morning, etc....you'd have thought he'd shot someone! All in all though, pleasing performance to see, and a nice penalty from Joe Hart.

I am not a true blue (no pun intended) City fan but I like you guys. I am however, a Galaxy season ticket holder and was at the match. A couple of things which I think have been missed in this whole Balotelli thing:

Mario was at least 4 yards off-side and expected to be called for it. He was giving the ball back to Saunders while playing around. Had he taken a real shot, he assumed he would have been yellow carded for kicking the ball away. In the end, the Ast. Ref never called him off, which was the most mindboggling thing about it.

I was there saw it live, had not idea that there was drama around it. It was such a nothing moment. No one else at the stadium that I saw/talked to had any idea about the dramatics either.

Completely agreed, this game was an exhibition in things being exactly as they were last year:

1) Balotelli is still a nutcase
2) Milner is still underwhelming
3) Everyone gives Johnson a pass even though he continues to underperform
4) Dzeko is still slow and cumbersome in the face of any kind of creative defending
5) We still don't know how to put the heat on a game when we get 1-0 up.

The only useful information is a) Mancini proved he is confident in his role and won't take any crap b) Weiss looks good enough to be in a first team spot during some part of the season 3) We came out with a win
