But then you could argue that we lost against Barca because of a penalty outside the box

We played Hart, Zaba, Kompany, Lescott, Kolorov, Fernandinho, Yaya, Silva, Nasri, Navas, Negredo and they didn't have Sturridge or Gerrard. This will be a completely different game. We have a fully fit squad and they have their best 11 available. Different game completely.

You seem to think that the big games we've played in indicate whether the team stands up or not...bollocks. Any big game we have played has been decided on small margins. If a team doesnt stand up they get stuffed a la arsenal or the rags. Its got nothing to do with our attitude (or ability) that we didnt get the result we wanted in the games you mention. Which one of those games were we beaten out of sight because we didnt have the bottle? I'll give you a clue:
