Manchester Evening News

along with the mirror its the rag that's the ragiest of all rags
Yes I agree, but like the mirror its still a good paper for eating fish & chips out of.
Opps, shouldn't use a preposition to end a sentence with.

Just bought the evening news for a crazy price of 55p, on the front page it promises to tell us how vinny nearly became a rag.
Reading the two page spread, they have gone to the trouble of watching a CNN interview with VK that I watched last Friday in France, and very basically just written a report on the tv interview, don't kids have to do this sort of thing at school?

I just read it online, just another example of poor journalism standards at mirror group, and SB required to make a quota measured in so many words per week, regardless of accuracy.

You have internet in your igloo? Posh bastard.

Leaving aside the generally poor sports journalism, re-hashed interviews, often from several days before and the error riddled articles, I'm amazed they still use the word 'evening' in the title. Just the one edition, in the shops by 7.00am and professes to be an evening paper. Piss poor.

I used to use the MEN website daily, as there was always good debate/banter to be had in the comments beneath the articles. But since they changed to facebook only comments, they've pretty much killed off reader interaction, and probably lost a lot of website views too.

My guess is they just got Navas mixed up with Negredo.

Still, it's shocking to even do that. A bit like when it still baffles commentators when they realise David Silva and David Villa are not the same player... Or Pascal Zabaleta is actually Pablo
and not Uruguayan

PS: Have you noticed they've even dropped the online blue option now

when the mirror group took over the m.e.n. they have had to tow the line with their daily paper and the agenda they have with our club . Nearly every other night the manchester evening comic has an article on a city player leaving kompany(barca),aguero(real),dzeko(arsenal),zabs(real),silva(barca)lescott(everton)kolarov(juventus)barry(villa)sinclair(anywhere) all these stories have appeared since the end of last season , in contrast only rooney from yoooonited has been reported to be on the move. We all know most of yooonited players are shite and teams like barca and madrid wouldnt be interested in signing 2nd class journeyman , but m.e.n. bias and there rag supporting reporters is beyond a joke , i wouldnt wipe my back side with the m.e.n. , just hope peter spencer reads this forum , because the arse licking "sports editor"" is the biggest twat of them all.

So if all the above is true, how do you know,as a self confessed non reader ?? Weird man !!

yes i have confessed to not wiping my arse with the m.e.n. , i prefer the quilted andrex , a far superior product and competitively priced , perhaps you should try it for your verbal diarrhea.

Got sick of the utd fans wumming on there so came here instead. Also seemed of the pace on actual news( their actual job) after Hughes left.

There was recently an article on Carlos Tevez being caught driving while disqualified. Now bear in mind that people are being murdered, raped, and robbed so where do you think they reported this article in the paper?
It was their lead story, full front page, the whole of the second page, and I kid you not the whole of the 3rd page. The first 3 pages about City player committing a motoring offence. Even united fans fans where I work were chuckling at how a motoring offence had managed to make the first 3 pages of the muen. That sort of reporting is usually reserved for terrorist atrocities, natural disasters, serial killers and the like, not a foolish sportsman driving to his local shop while disqualified.

Then of course there was the Editorial, (the view of the paper) criticizing City for the Carlos Tevez poster on Deansgate, the very same poster that has now become iconic, and won lots of awards around the world. It was pointed out at the time that united allowed a banner in their stadium mocking City's lack of success but the muen went very quite when this was pointed out to them.

Incidently I have no problem what so ever with Stuart Brennan, I think he has written some good articles on City, and he also had the balls to come on here.

The evening news seem to revel and perpetuate anything negative about our club even when it's relatively trivial.

The MEN is outdated in terms of reporting anything on City.

The topical issues are on bluemoon about a week before the MEN may even pick up on the story.

It's what sells papers though. Mainly non-football types who can then think they've formed an independent opinion about an "overpaid" prima donna - it makes their lives so much better as they listen to their millionaire pop stars and watch the millionaire movie & TV stars not realising the irony.

Then again thats why its big headlines, its a local paper covering local news, not a National, covering, wars, atrocities, disasters et.You also fail to mention the negatives that it has also given to the Rags, something that SB gave various headlines to.
You could hardly keep Balo out of the nationals,so a hell of a lot of negatives were given, but by the same token dont forget all the positives we had from that, with so called people claiming he had given his money away left, right and centre.
Swings and roundabouts, but many don`t want to see the positives and suffer from impaired vision when a positive article is written in our favour.
