The Chelsea game was sold out.
Those empty seats were presumably season ticket holders who couldn't make the game (probably kids given that it was an evening midweek game).
This hack can't even be arsed to do any research (or he didn't want to as it would have destroyed his article such as it is). By his figures we average 98.5% capacity so here's some comparisons based on last season's stats:
Real Madrid: 76.8%
Barca: 72.7%
Juventus: 94.0%
PSG: 88.8%
These clubs presumably build in spare capacity for whatever reason, though Lynch by his reasoning would probably say that Barca's support is obviously crap. What a complete and utter bollocks of an article.

I haven't clicked on any link to it since that story. Can't say I feel like I'm missing anything although I was tempted by them sticking the knife into wee Davey today. Probably did it just to get more readers though.
