We have no history. There's only one team in Manchester. That is all we ever here from the tossers from Stretford. We all know and continually here that the Rags have won more this and more that and have a bigger ground and bigger cocks blah-de-blah. But lets just talk about "MANCHESTER" Football history for a minute.
United may have been founded before CITY but it was CITY who had Manchester in their name first. CITY in 1894 and UTD in 1902.
CITY were the first Manchester club to win a major honour. CITY won the FA Cup in 1904 four years before Utd won their first major trophy which was the league title in 1908.
CITY won their first League Cup in 1970 while it took Utd a further 22 years to win their first in 1992.
Utd always chirp on about "The Treble" and yes they are the only English team to achieve this great feat but it was CITY who first won a European and Domestic double in 1970 with the European Cup winners Cup and the League Cup. The League cup triumph that year meant that CITY had achieved every Domestic honour. Again UTD had to wait until 1992 to do the same.
CITY hold the current record for biggest attendance 84,569 which was a sixth round cup game against Stoke in 1934. Utd's was 83,260 in a league game against Arsenal in 1948 (which was in fact played at Maine Road).
So fellow blues, when the vermin rattle on about no history just smile and be happy in the knowledge that MANCHESTER was and always will be BLUE!
