One in two hundred have the virus.

Scaremongering or do you think the estimate's correct?

Considering a certain village nearby, and the fact that there are a large number of male and female slags in the city, I wouldn't be surprised.

Are there any statistics for HIV victims that don't inject hard drugs or bum blokes and haven't contacted it through blood transfusions ?

If you really feel the need to bum a bloke - then statistically speaking, choose one from Cleveland/Durham 0.028% not Lambeth 1.328%.

One in 100,000,000,000

I don't know the ins and outs of the survey, but on my street alone I would say there are a good 80 residents, with the same amount of my folks's street. That would mean that someone on one of our streets has HIV. Maybe they do, I don't know but when I look at it that way it seems awfully high.

The 'elephant in the room' so to speak is Manchester's comparatively large community of immigrants from sub-Sahra Africa, where HIV and AIDs are rife in some countries. I would imagine there are far more HIV-positive patients in Longsight, Rusholme, Hulme, the Moss, Cheetham Hill than there would be in, say, Didsbury or Wythenshawe.
