Manchester Is Blue

It's amazing how many City shirts you see around Wigan area. Wigan has always had a good number of match going blues, but you see far more than pre 2008
Deffo pal . I moved to the Wigan area about 10 years ago and I get the train from Wigan town center to Manchester most home games . Lot of exiled blue Mancunians live in and around Wigan and I was surprised at the number at Wigan train stations on City match days when I first moved here , that number has increased the last few years with more younger city fans joining the ranks . Also loads in Westhoughton area another busy station on match day and Bolton station the same .

Fair enough, I’ve never considered somewhere like Wigan as having a high number of blues. Having worked there a little bit/ have a few friends there I’ve always seen more United and Liverpool fans.

Then again I feel like Wigan is so far removed from Manchester, I know people in Ashton in makerfield (if you count there) for instance who sound scouse.

Bolton to a similar extent. I think our strongholds are south, east Manchester and then Stockport and Tameside

Yonner places like Wigan Rochdale Bolton and Oldham and North Bury where they all speak funny must all be rags.

A lot of people have moved from Manchester to the Wigan area as house prices are generally a lot cheaper . Road and rail networks also usually very good to get into Manchester from wigan for people that still work in Manchester having moved to Wigan . A lot of people also don’t realise that Wigan is part of Greater Manchester . Younger generation deffo turning blue ;-)

My remote needs to get in the toilet so that I can hide behind in the sofa in peace.
