Manchester Nightlife

Manchester nightlife is mint, pretty much been every weekend for the last 12 years and DJ'd at every decent club that there has ever been. Sankeys currently ranked number 1 club in the world, warehouse project is frighteningly good and the new Venus club is quality for your more vocal house. Northern quarter and Oxford re are good areas to go round bars, then there's hidden gems like Corbieres and mojo that you wouldn't know were there. Loads of live music plus real pubs, nice restaurants and the likes of printworks and the locks to keep the out of towers and nob heads together.

Don't go to the venue. Its really shit. They don't play requests which is the same as 42s. Every friday you can name the playlist after you've been once.

5th Ave is shite aswel. They never change the playlist and the bouncers can be over the top there. Seen 1 smash a lads head off the wall.

NQ is alright when I've been out down there.

Don't mind the Factory as its 3 floors of different music but can be pricey inside.

Thanks for tip, but Venue and 42's are the only ones that will really let a group in. Like someone said, Bluu are a bit arsey like that. What other bars in the NQ would let a group (about 8) in at once?

Common, decent bar. I went in with about 10 people last time I was there, no bother aslong as you don't look like your gonna smash the place up your fine.

TV21 is alright, Trof next door to TV21, Odd Bar,Dry and Cord are decent. Nice atmosphere in all of them places everytime I've been.

Mint Lounge which is a club is alright aswel which is on Oldham Street, just not sure if its busy. Same with Moho Live which is next to Affleck Palace. But again with the students gone home it might not be busy.

42s and The Venue can be OK but I got turned away from 42s once for dressing wrong and I was a regular. I had my coat zipped to the top as I was freezing. If you don't go 42s alot though you will probably enjoy it.

Factory let groups in aswel. I enjoy FAC most just because its different music on each floor so you can just change if your bored. Better than having to leave.

If you are worried about going with groups try split up. Let some stay in a different pub then just get infront of each other in the queue.

Cheers mate. I'm going to have to venture into the Northern Quarter a lot more, I wasn't aware there was so much going on there.

Old Venus was much better imo.

Depends on what you want and Manchester has enough variety on a weekend to keep most people happy.

Yeah the NQ is alright. If you like watching bands live then Moho is alright at times, Night and Day always has bands on I think Dry are doing that aswel.

Just wander about some bars are hidden around the back streets.

Start off in the English Lounge, have one or a couple in there and when you leave, throw a right out the door, then take the first right and your pub crawl begins.

I guarantee you won't see any pink rabbit ears or 'L' plates and if you see any Ed Hardy wearing Moaty-a-likes don't worry, they'll just be on the doors.
