IF they win tomorrow (and no doubt if they did it would be another scrape), they'd be 6 points behind with the return at home, potentially not that far behind us despite being shit quite a lot.

6 points behind after 12 games is a lot. Equates to 19 points over the season. Which coincidentally ......

We are the better side, but then we've won derbies that have been a much bigger mismatch in the past, so I'm not getting too complacent.

I think the only real decision Pep has to make is Sané or Mahrez. Mendy is starting this match, whether we think he should or not is a different question, but he’ll be starting it. Arsenal away, Liverpool away, Spurs away, Mahrez started all of them. Could it be Leroy on the bench again? Most team selections would have Sané in it, but Pep likes Mahrez in these big games.

Sane will keep them pressed back the best ,i would be disappointed to not see him start with raz on the other side,take it to them

I agree Mendy will surely start.

Mahrez also starts imo. He’s far more consistent than Leroy and had an amazing game against Shakhtar. Two delightful assists and a goal. Won the ball back once near our own box. And created the 6th goal by winning the ball back in midfield. This is what Pep loves.

Also in the derby preview they were comparing stats and Mahrez runs almost 1km more than Sterling and Sane on average. This is big.

I love Sane but right now Mahrez is in better form. He was POTY for a reason and is beginning to show that form again.

Coming down tomorrow with the young lad for our first derby. Can’t stop thinking about it, absolutely buzzing to get there.

I fluctuate between us smashing them to smithereens and it being a tight or frustrating match. On the balance of probabilities and logic we should win and with a decent chance of the former...Our wingers up against their fullbacks should give the rags the fear for one.

The only way I can see us ‘struggling’ is if De Gea has a worldie or our finishing is slightly off. If it does turn out to be a tight game we have so much firepower coming off the bench.

I would love to see the Rags have a go, and allow us to devastate them on the counter attack.

After last season, NO MERCY please, no easing off, 90 minutes of relentless attacking play.
