Manchester United (h) pre-match thread

Winning against them is just a brilliant brilliant feeling, losing brings some dark night of the soul level misery. So hopefully we can beat them at home for the first time since 2014. We owe them badly for last season.

Sadly they seem to have finally found form at the wrong time and they’re digging out results without playing that well. In fact it looks as though last season’s derby is a template for their current performances, play badly let the opposition get complacent and then hit them with a sucker punch.

I believe we’ve improved but the big test will be whether we can avoid the 15-20 minute meltdowns we had last season. 3 times we conceded 3 in a shortish period (Liverpool in league and CL and United at home). If we eliminate this then there’s no limit to what we can do this season.

If he does say anything, he will surely be asked to leave the premises :)

So I missed out on the ballot but I'm getting a ticket among the Citeh fans. A bit nervous. Anyone done this before? Am I endangering myself unnecessarily? Of course I won't be wearing anything United and will try to not make my true loyalty obvious, but who knows it might just slip out!
Depends where he’s sat and if he’s caught. If he’s turfed out he’ll no doubt take a few cheap digs.

First chance he gets to book one of our lads, either a central defender or Fern...

No doubt the Special Gone will delight today in being spoon fed by the lazy twats over technical fouls, football leaks, Sterling diving, winning at our place last season, etc.

Surprisingly, he seemed to be fairly reasonable about us from what I've seen, certainly regarding the Football Leaks stuff:

"I focus on football, so if you want to speak about their football potential we can speak, and football potential starts with investment."

"After that, of course, there's a quality of the work, of the organisation, I think that's untouchable. But what's behind, I cannot say. In this moment I have only to think about football, and to think about City as a football team."

My first game was v Coventry (brown kit) in October 1979 and that season my mates brother always went in Kippax so his North Stand season ticket was often going spare. Went quite a few games (for free!) that season but my mate decided that someone else could have the NS seat for the derby. When I found out who I went ballistic and have never forgotten!! Every time the derby comes round I think of Paddy effin Crearand’s son in the seat I should have had!!

Justice was done though thanks to Michael Robinson and “One” Tony Henry.

So 39 years later and a good 18 years since I emigrated for a sunnier lifestyle (just after Millwall away) I find myself on pilgrimage back to see the blue shirted heroes in derby once more.

I ll take 1-0 but I d love 5-0

So if you see a sunburnt bloke shivering ( yes I know it’s a balmy 11 degrees) in The Colin Bell, spare a thought for my 24 hour flight to worship at the alter of the one true religion

And I ll be thinking of “One” Tony Henry wiping the smile off the face of Crearand junior and senior!!!!

My first Derby was the 2-2 in 1975. I was in the North Stand and enjoyed that glorious lob by Jimmy Nichol straight over Stepney's head ! First win was the infamous league cup 4-0 a few months later when Buchan injured Colin. The 2-0 in 79 was a good one and I remember being stood on the Kippax and we all started singing " Bang Bang United fall..." to the tune of the BA Robertson hit in the charts at that moment. Whatever happened to him ?!

Yeah sounded like the rat that is stone who was trying to agitate for a negative response.

Only because he knows he’d be playing a risky game calling out alleged, historical financial impropriety after being caught red handed evading tax.

This is a game where I am convinced we will play them off the park, I've never been more confident of anything. We seem to be defensibly stronger without losing anything at the front.
It's 3-1 or 4-0 for me and tears at bedtime for the moaner.
