Manchester voted one of the best nights out, Salford one of the worst.

All depends on whether you count the precinct / Pendleton or Greengate / Blackfriars or the Quays as the city centre. It’s the only city where there’s not a simple answer. To confuse matters further the Town Hall (Civic Centre) which would normally be in the city centre is in Swinton, which depending on definitions is a different town and has a Manchester postal address.
You call any Swintonian a Salfordian he’ll shoot you down in flames ..

Had this discussion the other day. Does anyone know where the centre of Salford is? The Precinct?
Town for me.

Trinity and Blackfriars are part of Salford but are in Manchester city centre. Salford Central Station is in Mcr city centre n’all.

Town could be called Mansalaffordchester city centre (or some other mixture of the names).

For me, Manchester City Centre is also Salford’s city centre. Especially when you think Manchester was just a district in the Salford Hundred at one time. Even our Manchester accent is actually the Salford accent.

Salfordians (and people from Trafford n’all) all call Mcr City Centre ‘Town’.

We’re all one and the same metropolis despite being cities in their own right.
It was always be "Town" for me.

Born in Hope, raised in Weaste, Manchester is "Town"
