Manchesters blue areas?

I live in Swinton and would guess we have more blues than reds attending games.

However the pubs are packed with reds when they're on telly especially for games played at the swamp.

Seeing more and more wearing the blue now I reckon because we have some of the latecomers and regular blues are no longer afraid of having the piss taken as I have for years.

Prestwich/ Whitefield, Burnage/ Whalley/ Chorlton from experience.

Plus everywhere else I've lived.

Who are we?

Let me take a wild guess. Smug, speccy former fanzine writer, initials AW, who shat his pants when I called his bluff after him and his 'top boys' tried giving it the big 'un in the Palace nightclub, Levenshulme, one night back in the day?

Initials AB I thought. Dr Adam Brown from UMIST...

The very one, though it was Manchester Metropolitan Uni

Swarming with Blues in my region. From Timperley (Timp Brook, West Timp, Broadheath, Broomwood) and Wythenshawe (Baguley[+Brooklands], Benchill, Crossacres, Sharston, Peel Hall - not sure about Woodhouse Park or Newall Green as I don't know anyone from around there!) there are loads of City fans. There are lots of Rags too but as everyone else says its like 50% of the Blues who are regular match going and about 10% of the Rags who bother going.

do you go?

From what i've read on this post i can only gather that there are probably more rags in Greater Manchester, maybe 60% to 40%, but the higher % of football fans that actually make the effort to get there, spend the money(not having a go at fans that can't afford, it's a bad time for lots of people) on matches are Blue! I'm from Sale M33 and both me and the misses have SC's.

I know so many lads that live and breathe UTD and can remember the last game they went to, it's normally 4 years ago when they beat bolton 2-0 or 5 years ago when they managed to get a CL ticket against some Turkish side no1 has ever heard of, when they played a 3rd string team and managed to get the 1-0 win they needed to progress!

Salford has quite a few blues but most of the kids are reds as they love success and we have not been able to offer that.

The tide is turning though and I notice more colours being worn and that can only encourage the kids to join our happy band.
