Trouble is we need a winner in charge & every time it has come to the crunch this season we have fallen short & whats worst to me Mancini dont look like a winner?
his record says differently.

FORZA MANCINI

What was said on 5 live was definitely NOT an official statement from City that Mancini was staying.

He probably is and he definitely should be.City should sort out the official statement now as delaying only fuels speculation that he isnt staying.Even worse it fuels speculation that they want to move him on but havent secured a replacement yet.

-- Thu May 06, 2010 2:25 pm --

Not sure about Mancini - seems to have bottled it in the bigger games for me.
We are noe not in a position to attract the players that would have pushed us on to another level because we've missed out on the Champs League - however with a world class manager I still believe we could get them, step forward the one and only Jose Mourinho.
We need him if we ever aspire to take on the biggest teams in Europe, he can draw players in and is as tactically aware as the best of them, he has a proven (almost glittering) track record of success - I take the point his teams can be somewhat dour at times but he's a winner with a winning mentality.
Love him or hate him, love or disloath his playing style he gets results when they count - unlike we did this evening.
I for one would rather be sat here now knowing we are playing in the Champs League next year instead of Spurs - I believe he would have done that and at the same time I believe a certain Mr Hughes would have too.

Big games under Mancini:

Manchester City 2-1 Manchester United
Manchester United 3-1 Manchester City
Manchester City 0-0 Liverpool
Chelsea 2-4 Manchester City
Manchester City 0-1 Manchester United
Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City
Manchester City 3-1 Aston Villa
Manchester City 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur

3 Wins 2 Draws 3 Defeats

Can be improved but there is defo signs there that he can manage in the big games, I think if he's alowed to bring in his own players we will see a much more solid City with a better mentality.

Oh the beauty of stats :) I do think if you are including Villa in the comparison you should also add Everton who are a better side than Villa and will finish higher next season than Villa.

Then its 3 wins , 2 draws and 5 defeats and no goals in 6 of the games!

Its strange how our fans call our club crazy for some decisions (such as sacking hughes) but they still call for more bizarre things to happen like sacking mancini. I wanted a bit of stability under Hughes, but now we actually have a world class manager in charge, someone who has won stuff and knows what we need to win stuff!

Solely based on the fact that in his first half-season in the EPL he hasn't won anything, it is a startling, but ever so slightly vacuous observation!

My opinion is that had we had Mancini from the day the owners took over, and we would be looking at two full seasons, the silver polish would by now have had its lid removed. Don't you agree De Niro?

at best.

Hahaha.

Thanks for the insult, thats really made my morning much better,
I just gave my honest opinion last night after watching the game, which I thought this board was all about?

But you haven't done your research have you? Explain to us all how Mancini isn't a winner, but explain it using what he's won. I think you'll find its impossible, but i'm looking forward to seeing your effort. Over to you.

I honestly hope to god I am wrong & I am more than happy to give mancini more time, but this season in the most important games we really needed to win we seem to sit back & be afraid to take the game to the opposition,
I dont do research I just see whats in front of me & to me there is something not right beetween the players & manager,
I am pleased The club have come out & backed Mancini & maybee when he has had time to put his stamp on the team over the close season we will be able to kill teams off when it really matters,
I just say it as I see it as most people on here do but would never even think of insulting other blues just because they have a different opinion to mine.

yeah, yeah. Empty promises. They'll wait till December, and then, when we actually start playing good football, they'll sack him and replace him with some other hapless tosser. Really getting fed up with this mess of a football club.

Money changes nothing. We're still shit.

Bollocks!!

Mr Ed, you sound just like a fucking rag. That is EXACTLY what a rag would say.
